The Oregon Scottish Heritage Festival is designed for people of all ages, but especially for young families and youth who want to enjoy a day of good family fun, educational information, and insights into their own possible Celtic connections.

In addition to pipe bands, dances, and Celtic music, the Oregon Scottish Heritage Festival will have a special focus of sharing stories of Scottish heritage.  There will be educational and interactive booths that tell the stories of clans, accounts of immigration to America, information on the achievements and contributions of Scottish people to science, education, and the formation of our own country's constitution.   The story will be told about the influence of Scottish pioneers in the establishment of Oregon as a state, and the formation of several Oregon cities, including the city of Albany.    There will be special opportunity for children to get dressed in Scottish costumes, learn some Gaelic words, do a treasure hunt, participate in highland games, and visit the Queen's Court.  Authentic Scottish food will be served at Mary and Sandy's Kitchen.  Families and individuals will have an opportunity to explore their Celtic genealogy and heritage.   In addition to all this, there will be entertainment by award winning, Celtic musicians, the The Fire (Rebecca Lomnicky & David Brewer), Tillers Folly, and a number of other excellent entertainers.
